about

1970 Sessions - Released 3/5/2021 in honor of Will's 70th Birthday !!

Will Beeley recorded this album as a follow up to his debut, Gallivantin', in 1970 in San Antonio, TX. It features Richard Silen on guitar and vocals. Never released until now, the album was used as an audition tape for interested labels. Beeley would eventually sign to Malaco Records.

Tompkins Square reissued Beeley's 70's albums Gallivantin' and Passing Dream. The vinyl on both is long sold out - Gallivantin' is still available on CD and digital.

Beeley returned to the studio with producer Jerry DeCicca (Larry Jon Wilson) in 2019 for his first album in 40 years, Highways & Heart Attacks (available on CD/LP/digital). Recorded by 5-time Grammy winner Joe Trevino (Los Lobos, Flaco Jimenez) and mixed by Stuart Sikes (Loretta Lynn's 'Van Lear Rose', Cat Power), the LP also features The Mavericks' Michael Guerra.

** A portion of proceeds from 1970 Sessions will benefit hunger relief organizations in New Mexico and Texas **
