We first met Tyler Ramsey at Etherea Records (RIP) on Ave A in NYC back in 2005 or so, just as the label was getting started. This imposing Southern mountain man definitely stood out amongst the prevailing poseurdom of mid-90's East Village "indie sleaze."

Tyler handed us his excellent self-released CD, and we became instant fans.

In 2007, Tyler joined Band of Horses and stayed with the group until 2017, when he split to focus on his family and other artistic pursuits.

In 2012, we invited Tyler to record two songs for our Record Store Day 78 rpm 10" series. Other 10”s in this series included Ralph Stanley, Joe Bussard, Luther Dickinson, Michael Hurley, and a Lucinda Williams/Michael Chapman split 10".

The two tracks from Tyler's 78 have never been available digitally until now, and they are Beautiful !

We present Raven Shadow and Black Pines exclusively via Bandcamp, and the six 10”s we have left here at HQ are also available. Tyler will have more quantity of these on hand along his tour.

Tyler is a monster guitarist and a wonderful human being.
